Denise Lanterman

Artist’s Bio

Although Denise Lanterman has a degree minor in Art History, she is a mostly self taught artist. Many workshops with notable artists, membership in the talented and supportive art group Artspa , the internet as an endless source of art, artists, the process of making art, and many miles on the brush have all enhanced and broadened her work. Denise paints in acrylic on canvas and paper.  For her, art and life are intertwined. The canvas / paper is a refuge from life, a place to find peace and calm.

Her favourite subjects are expressionistic seascapes and abstraction. For her, the use of lines,  circles and curves is a connection to the universality of nature and our physical presence in the world. Denise has been in many group shows and her work is held in several private collections. Her work was featured in the 2013 Peggy’s Cove Festival of  The Arts Calendar and she was recently awarded second place in the Society of Canadian Artists 2015 open on-line competition.
